# AS-REP Roasting

### Prinzip

**AS-REP-Roasting** ist eine Technik, die auf Active-Directory-Konten abzielt, die mit der Option konfiguriert sind:

Die Antwort enthält Daten, die mit einem aus dem Passwort des Benutzers abgeleiteten Schlüssel verschlüsselt sind.

Diese Daten können dann offline mit einem Tool wie John the Ripper oder Hashcat angegriffen werden.

### Warum es gefährlich ist

Dieser Angriff ist gefährlich, weil:

* es nicht unbedingt gültige Anmeldeinformationen erfordert;
* es aus der Ferne gegen den KDC durchgeführt werden kann;
* das Knacken offline erfolgt;
* es stark von der Stärke des Benutzerpassworts abhängt.
