# Path-Traversal-Umgehung mit Nullbyte- und Erweiterungsvalidierung
### Dateipfad-Traversal, Validierung der Dateierweiterung mit Null-Byte-Bypass
Diese Übung zeigt eine Path-Traversal-Schwachstelle beim Anzeigen der Produktbilder. / Die Anwendung prüft, dass der angegebene Dateiname mit der erwarteten Erweiterung endet.
Das Ziel ist, den Inhalt von **/etc/passwd** vorhandenen Benutzern.
#### **Analyse**
Wenn der Pfad direkt angegeben wird
```bash
../../../../etc/passwd
```
Die Anwendung gibt einen Fehler zurück, weil die Datei die Erweiterung haben muss **.jpg**.
In älteren PHP-Versionen (vor **5.3.4**), war es möglich, ein Null **Byte (%00)** um diese Validierung zu umgehen: / Die PHP-Engine hörte beim Nullbyte auf, den Dateinamen zu lesen, während die Anwendung weiterhin eine gültige Erweiterung sah.
#### **Payload**
Füge vor der Erweiterung ein Nullbyte hinzu:

%00.jpg
```
Der Browser interpretiert weiterhin ".jpg", aber PHP stoppt bei " /etc/passwd", wodurch Sie die sensible Datei lesen können.
