# AS-REP Roasting

### Principe

**Roasting AS-REP** est une technique visant les comptes Active Directory configurés avec l’option :

Ne pas exiger la préauthentification Kerberos
```

La réponse contient des données chiffrées avec une clé dérivée du mot de passe de l’utilisateur.

Ces données peuvent ensuite être attaquées hors ligne avec un outil comme John the Ripper ou Hashcat.

### Pourquoi c’est dangereux

Cette attaque est dangereuse car :

* elle ne nécessite pas nécessairement des identifiants valides ;
* elle peut être menée à distance contre le KDC ;
* le craquage est effectué hors ligne ;
* elle dépend fortement de la robustesse du mot de passe de l’utilisateur.
