# XSS Reflected in the Canonical Tag

### Reflected XSS in Canonical Link Tag
`canonical` tag that reflects in its `href` the value provided in the URL (the `<` and `>` angle brackets are escaped). / Purpose: Inject an executable **attribute** that calls `alert()` on the home page.
* The source code shows that there is a `canonical` tag that takes `href` from what is put in the URL.
* You can go out with an apostrophe: `' hacking` => `%27hacking`.

* `accesskey` can be used for pressing a key to trigger the action: `'accesskey='x' onclick='alert(0)`.
